UPARAMA
--Upaarama
is the natural withdrawal of both the mind and senses from external objects.
--Withdrawing
“Anthahkarana” from external objects is called uparama.
For
example the water in the tank passes through gutters and flows to the fields.
Then
that water takes the shape of that particular field likewise mind passes
through sensory organs and take the form of external objects. These are called
“vrittis”. If the sensory organs are totally controlled the mind doesn’t
contact either external objects.
This
condition of the mind which is peaceful not tempted not wondering and not
rushing towards the world of finite pleasures is called uparama.
--If
Anthahkarana is free from the influence from external objects that condition is
